<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable learning of a numerical value indicating a displacement amount with high accuracy, regarding the displacement amount from a regular position of a detected part detected by a crank angle sensor. <P>SOLUTION: If NE waveforms when assuming that there is no pulser error are called ideal waveforms Wa, Wb and waveforms indicating changes in measured momentary rotation speed are called measured waveforms Va, Vb and if parameters of the equation derived from the ideal waveforms Wa, Wb are called ideal parameters Amot, θmot and parameters of the equation derived from the measured waveforms are called measured parameters Arow, θrow, a plurality of different average NEs are set as reference values and ideal parameters corresponding to each of the plurality of reference values are previously stored.
