OBSTACLE REPORT SYSTEM, AND OBSTACLE REPORT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle report system capable of intuitively reporting the distances from own vehicle to the obstacles to the driver of the own vehicle.

SOLUTION: This obstacle report system includes: a mechanism for displacing the position of the seating surface of the seat of the own vehicle; an obstacle detection means for acquiring the information on the distances between obstacles around the own vehicle, and the own vehicle; and a control command determination means for determining a method for driving the mechanism based on the acquired information on the distances. The control command determination means controls so as to further increase the displaced amount of the seating surface from the initial position as the distances between the own vehicle and the obstacle become smaller, or to rock the seating surface at predetermined intervals. Desirably, the distances between the own vehicle and the obstacles are reported to the driver in such a manner that the predetermined intervals are reduced according to the distances between the own vehicle and the obstacles. The control command determination means may control so as to displace the seating surface in the direction in which the obstacles are positioned or in the advancing direction of the vehicle.
