<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing metal oxide particles capable of controlling the type, the particle size distribution and the like of the metal oxide particles to be produced. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing metal oxide particles includes a preparation process of preparing a solution of metal nitrate or metal oxide nitrate to which carbon particles are added as a metal oxide precursor, and a heating process of heating the solution.
