<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of suppressing a black-in-white phenomenon. <P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic radial tire includes a carcass extending from a tread part through side wall parts to the bead cores of bead parts, clinch apexes, and white letter parts located outside the side wall parts. Each clinch apex includes a thick portion located outside the bead part, and a thin portion extending from the upper part of the thick portion outward in a tire radial direction.
