<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic having excellent effects that imparts glossiness, an excellent slipping property and good combing property to the hair and smoothness, a good slipping property and moist feeling free from greasiness to the skin, and is excellent in shelf stability even in cosmetic prescription containing a large amount of ionic materials. <P>SOLUTION: The cosmetic includes a polyhydric alcohol and an alkylglycerolized derivative of a protein hydrolyzate, whose ≥50% amino groups including the amino groups of amino acid side chains of the protein hydrolyzate are bonded with an alkylglyceryl group represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>represents 4-22C alkyl, 4-22C alkenyl, or phenyl).
