<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a centralized base station that adjusts a signal level in a plurality of cascade-connected remote base stations so that each of the remote base stations can receive an optical signal in a desired signal level range; and an optical transmission system. <P>SOLUTION: A centralized base station 10 comprises: a downlink signal creation section 112 that creates a downlink signal multiplexed by assigning a different subcarrier for each of remote base stations 20; and an electric-optic conversion section 114 that converts the downlink signal to an optical signal. The downlink signal creation section 112 performs multiplexing by adjusting a signal level on a subcarrier basis so that a signal level of the subcarrier assigned to each of the remote base stations 20 and received by each of the remote base stations 20 falls within a desired signal level range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
