<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tires, which can improve low fuel consumption performance, wet grip performance and wear resistance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tires comprises a diene polymer, silica and a diene rubber gel having a glass transition temperature of -40 to -10°C and having a hydroxyl group, wherein the diene polymer is a modified diene polymer obtained by reacting components (A) and (B) described below with each other, and the content of the diene rubber gel is 10 to 30 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of a rubber component. The components are: (A) an active conjugate diene polymer having an alkali metal terminal which is obtained by polymerizing a conjugate diene monomer or polymerizing a conjugate diene monomer with an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of (C) described below; and (B) a modifying agent having a functional group. The component (C) is a chemical species obtained by reacting a compound expressed by formula (1) with an organic alkali metal compound. In the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are the same or different from each other, representing a hydrogen atom, branched or non-branched alkyl group, branched or non-branched aryl group, branched or non-branched alkoxy group, branched or non-branched silyloxy group, branched or non-branched acetal group, carboxyl group, mercapto group, or derivatives of these groups; and A represents a branched or non-branched alkylene group, branched or non-branched arylene group, or derivatives of these groups. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
