A combined heat and power generation system includes a photovoltaic module (2) comprising a photovoltaic cell (3) and an optical element (4) for focusing an incident beam of light (5) toward the photovoltaic cell (3) that is adapted to produce electrical power (6) from the focused beam of light (5), and a fluid flow channel (7) disposed in a path of the focused beam of light (5) between the optical element (4) and the photovoltaic cell (3), the fluid being capable of capturing heat from said beam of light (5) to generate heat energy (8), fluid flow channel (7) being variable in a direction along said path of the focused beam (5) to resultantly control the electrical power (6) produced by the photovoltaic cell (3) or the heat energy (8) generated by said fluid, or both. |
