The invention relates to a method and device for measuring the boundary layer potential of particles and macromolecules in liquid polar media in the form of individual samples, having the following features: a) the sample to be examined (12) is introduced into a sample container (5), b) a tightly sealed metal cylinder (4) comprising a head ring (10) seated thereon, a Teflon core (3) located in the interior thereof having a capillary tube, and a collecting channel tube (2) mounted thereon with a ring electrode, is inserted into the sample container (5), wherein the head ring (10) and the ring electrode are accessible from the outside and the collecting channel tube, on the upper face thereof, enables connection to a pump, and c) the sample container (5) supplemented in this way is mechanically and electrically connected from below to an evaluation unit, wherein said evaluation unit has a pump (13), an electronic signal processing means and an output unit for the measurement result.
