Disclosed are a pretreatment liquid for cold transfer digital inkjet printing and application method thereof. The pretreatment liquid for cold transfer digital inkjet printing comprises pesudoplastic etherified starch with rheological behavior, alkaline agent, urea and water. In the rotary screen sizing process, a fabric to be printed is treated by the pretreatment liquid and then closely bonded with a digital inkjet transfer printing medium, and jet-printing patterns are transferred from the medium to the fabric by using a transfer printing machine. The pretreatment liquid can effectively prevent transfer of dyes to the inside of the fabric to increase the surface dye-uptake rate of the fabric. In case of the same ink amount, the color of the product is deeper than that of the conventional cold-transfer printing.
