This signal degradation detection device (100) detects degradation of signals exchanged among multiple communication devices. A first communication device transmits a communication confirmation message to a second communication device each time a transmission cycle elapses. The signal degradation detection device (100) is equipped with: a loss counter unit (101) that calculates a loss count, that is, the number of communication confirmation messages which are not received by the second communication device during a count period, for each of multiple successive count periods; an excessive loss count processing unit (102) that increases the loss count for a count period by one if the loss count exceeds a threshold loss count before an upper limit time expires after the relevant count period begins, and initiates the next count period by ending the relevant count period; and a signal degradation detection unit (103) that detects signal degradation at the point when the number of excessive loss counts has exceeded a threshold count. |
