Provided is an ESD protection device with which it is possible to alleviate degradation in discharge characteristics resulting from repeated discharges and excess sintering resulting from diffusion of a glass component. A hollow part (13), at least one pair of discharge electrodes (14, 15), and conductor parts (34, 35) are formed on the interior of an insulating multilayered substrate (12) in which a plurality of insulation layers are stacked. The discharge electrodes (14, 15) are provided with facing parts (14a, 15a) which are formed along the interior faces of the hollow part (13), with a gap disposed therebetween, and face one another. The discharge electrodes (14, 15) are additionally connected to exterior electrodes (18, 19). The conductor parts (34, 35) are formed so as to cover at least one of opposing leading ends (14s, 15s) of the facing parts (14a, 15a) of the discharge electrodes (14, 15), when viewed in the stacking direction in which the insulation layers of the insulating multilayered substrate (12) are stacked, the facing direction in which the facing parts (14a, 15a) of the discharge electrodes (14, 15) face one another, or in a direction which is perpendicular to both the stacking direction and the facing direction. |
