A method and system for removing copper cyanide from a solution with high contents of copper, silver, zinc and iron ions by using sodium sulphur in an acid medium for the precipitation of copper sulphur and recovery of cyanide, the invention using a totally hermetic system without electric or mechanical energy, since it uses gravity, including directional shifts in the flow and static inert mixers within the system for facilitating the mixture and reaction of the reactants for precipitating copper sulphur and generating cyanhydric acid, which is adsorbed in sodium hydroxide diluted in water for the recovery or regeneration of cyanide.
