The kit has a housing (1) integrally fixed to a vehicle seat and supporting an assembly of an armrest on the vehicle seat in two configurations, where the armrest is mounted in the housing in an articulated manner. The housing forms an angle with two perpendicular walls (2, 3). The armrest occupies two extreme positions in one of the configurations, and occupies additional intermediate positions between the extreme positions, where the housing is common for the two configurations. A holding pin allows the armrest to remain in contact with the housing when the armrest is mounted on the housing. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an armrest on a vehicle seat.
