PURPOSE: A super-hydrophobic gas diffusion layer is provided to have stable performance in a high current region and to maintain a moderate level of moisture content in a low current region, thereby maintaining excellent ion conducting performance. CONSTITUTION: A super-hydrophobic gas diffusion layer for a polymer electrode fuel cell comprises a super water-repellent layer which includes silicon oxides and carbon on both sides of the gas diffusion layer. A manufacturing method of the super-hydrophobic gas diffusion layer comprises a step of preparing a gas diffusion layer and a polymer precursor which includes a silicon atom and a carbon atom; and a step of putting the polymer precursor and gas diffusion layer into a heating chamber, and heating the same to simultaneously deposit the silicon oxide and carbon on both sides of the gas diffusion layer. |
