<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for measuring tire thickness that measures the tire thickness with the internal pressure applied thereto. <P>SOLUTION: One bead portion of the tire 30 is supported by an upper half rim 84 and the other bead portion by a lower half rim 26, thereafter the inside of the tire is sealed to apply the internal pressure thereto. The distance to the inside surface of the tire which is measured by an inside laser displacement meter 66 disposed in a tire hollow portion and the distance to the outer surface of the tire which is measured by the outside laser displacement meter 122 disposed on the outside of the tire are subtracted from the distance from the inside laser displacement meter 66 to the outside laser displacement meter 122.
