<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus that allows both accurate execution of ATVC in which leakage of current is prevented, and suppression of deterioration in durability of a transfer unit other than that of a station of interest in a monochrome mode, and thereby constantly to provide stable primary transferability. <P>SOLUTION: At least one transfer means 14 is connected with detection means 17 for detecting a voltage and/or a current that is applied from a transfer power source 15. Prior to image formation, a voltage to be applied to the transfer means that is not connected with the detection means 17 is changed multiple times; a voltage and/or a current of the transfer means connected with the detection means 17 is detected before and after the change of voltage; and a voltage or a current to be applied to the transfer means connected with the detection means 17 during image formation is determined from a detection result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
