<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat tube facilitating the assembly of a heat exchanger by holding the fitted state of a pair of a first plate 4 and a second plate 5 in the flat tube 6 having the channel type first plate 4 and second plate 5 each having side walls 2 raised on both sides of a bottom face 1 having expanded bottom parts 3 expanded in an outer direction at both longitudinal ends, the flat tube 6 being formed by fitting bodies of both plates. <P>SOLUTION: Engaging recesses 10 are formed in both side walls 2 of the first plate 4. Claw parts 11 are provided at both side walls 2 of the second plate 5, and locking parts 12 are formed at the tips of the claw parts 11. The second plate 5 is fitted to the outer surface side of the first plate 4, and the claw parts 11 are fitted into the engaging recesses 10.
