The suction catheter has a catheter tube (1) and a connector (2), and a secretion container (3) arranged between the catheter tube and the connector. The secretion container is a hollow cylinder or a hollow body with closed ends, where the proximal of the catheter tube and distal of the connector are connected. The secretion container is provided with a semipermeable membrane, which diagonally divides the secretion container into two areas, where the secretion accumulating in an area facing the catheter tube is collected, and another area facing the connector is connected to the vacuum.
