PURPOSE: A multichannel dimmer for LED dimming and a control method thereof are provided to prevent flicker when photographing an image by controlling brightness of an LED lamp using a PWM technique. CONSTITUTION: A dimmer for LED dimming includes a microcontroller(10), a communication interface unit(20), a dip switch(30), an LED driver(40) and a frequency configuration unit(50). The microcontroller controls each component according to firmware. The communication interface unit transceives firmware and control command with the outside through wired/wireless communication. The dip switch configures a generic number in each illumination device for determining which illumination device is to be used in which port. The LED driver drives an LED by including a device switching power supplied to the LED. The frequency configuration unit appropriately configures a driving frequency of the LED driver corresponding to a shutter speed to prevent flicker of a camera.
