PURPOSE: A negative electrode for a secondary battery is provided to have excellent electrochemical reactivity, to have excellent resistance to internal stress and pressure. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode(10) for a secondary battery comprises a spiral negative electrode(30) in which two or more wire type negative electrodes coated with negative electrode active material layer are arranged in parallel; and a conductive layer which surrounds the spiral negative electrode. A cable type secondary battery comprises an internal electrode which includes at least one or more of the negative electrodes; a separating layer which surrounds the internal electrode and becomes an ion path; an external positive electrode which surrounds the separating layer and comprises a positive electrode active material layer and positive current collector; and a protection coating arranged in the circumference of the external positive electrode.
