In the formula, M is ruthenium or osmium in an oxidation state of 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4; x and n are each independently an integer selected from 1-6; y is an integer selected from 0-5; m is an integer from -5 to +4; and z is an integer from -2 to +1; A is a bidentate, tridentate, tetradentate, pentadentate or hexadentate ligand; B is an independently chosen ligand; X is a counter ion; B is optionally substituted with 1-8 substituents independently selected from among a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl and aryl group, -F, -Cl, -Br, -I, -NO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, -CN, -CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>H, -SO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>H, -NHNH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, -SH, aryl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, dialkylaminocarbonyl, -OH, alkoxy, -NH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and alkylamino; and the number of coordinating atoms is 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
