<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety and control of a vehicle by analyzing a road surface where the vehicle is travelling. <P>SOLUTION: A system 10 uses an AER camera such as a silicon retina 11, and monitors the road surface where the vehicle is going to travel. Then a processing unit 12 analyses the road surface on the basis of a signal provided by the silicon retina.
