<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel cationic oligomeric azo dyes, and a method for dyeing a keratin-containing fiber using the same. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided cationic oligomeric azo dyes obtained by reacting a monoazo intermediate, a formula (1a), with a diamino compound such as ethylenediamine, N,N'-dimethylethylenediamine, 1,3-propanediamine, 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-diaminopropane, and cysteamine.
