<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reporting and resolving conflicting use of a node identifier. <P>SOLUTION: A wireless node receives wireless signals and determines, on the basis of those signals, that more than one node use the same node identifier. The wireless node may then report the conflicting use to a network node. An access point that discovers a conflicting use may report the conflicting use and/or select to use a different node identifier. Upon identification of a conflicting use, an access point negotiates with another access point to cause one of these access points to use a different node identifier. In some aspects, upon identification of a conflicting use, an access point delays for a period of time before determining whether a different node identifier is to be used at one of the nodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
