The method involves forming an induction coil by an electric conductor (5) extending along a winding. The induction coil is arranged in a region of a heated surface (9) of a metal sheet component or semi-finished sheet product. An electrical insulation element (11) is arranged on the heated surface of the semi-finished product or a metal sheet component surface of an inductor and/or the surface of the semi-finished product or the metal sheet component. The electrical insulation element is formed as coating of the inductor, where the coating comprises an organic material. An independent claim is also included for a device for inductive heating of semi-finished sheet products or metal sheet components.
