The present invention relates to an attachment element (1) for fastening an airbag to a vehicle structure (10) comprising -an attachment plate (8) with a hook (6) which is designed to be inserted into an attachment opening (11) of the vehicle structure (10), wherein the attachment element (1) is fixed at the vehicle structure (10) by clamping in the attachment opening (11), and wherein -the attachment plate (8) comprises a through-hole (17) in which an attachment screw or bolt (7) is inserted for pressing the hook (6) into the clamping position, wherein -the hook (6) comprises a thickened head (12) extending at one side of the hook, and -the through-hole (17) is running at least in sections in an angle (B) unequal to 90 degrees with respect to the attachment plate (8), and wherein -the through-hole (17) ends in an opening, which is located at the side of the hook (6) opposing to the thickened head (12).
