PURPOSE:To improve the shelf stability of silver halide photographic polyolefin coated paper without exerting photographic unfavorable influence by adding urea having a specified mol. wt. of natural pulp for the base paper of the coated paper. CONSTITUTION:When the base paper of a silver halide photographic support is made, urea or a urea compound having <=150mol.wt. is impregnated into natural pulp by 0.05-2.5wt% on dry basis. This base paper is coated with polyolefin resin by an ordinary method. Using the resulting support the amount of a stabilizer or a fog inhibitor to be added to a silver halide emulsion layer can be reduced, and a photographic material with superior photographic characteristics, developability, latent image stability, fixability, etc. is obtd. |
