[Class 8(ii)] In a gas filter of the kind in which the incoming gas stream first passes through a filter element and then impinges on an oil sump and carries oil on to a further filter element, the gas stream first passes radially inwards through a dry removable washable element 10 then downwardly through a tubular duct 3 to a sump 5 and then upwardly and radially outwardly through a second element 14 comprising a cylindrical wire mesh element arranged round the duct 3. The filter 10 may be of steel wool and filter 14 of corrugated sheets as described in Specification 544,296. The cleaned air leaves by an exit aperture 12.
