Multispectral imaging apparatus comprises at least two spaced apart imaging sensors, both operating at a first wavelength (e.g. visible or IR). An image combiner mixes images from the sensors (100 & 101) to provide a first scene image from a virtual viewpoint (102). A further imaging sensor (e.g. located equidistantly between the two spaced apart sensors) operates at a second wavelength (e.g. IR or visible) different from the first and provides a second scene image (104) from a second position. The first and second scene images are combined (105) to provide a multispectral image (106). The virtual viewpoint and the second position of the further sensor are identical spatial positions. Parallax in the combined multispectral image is therefore avoided.
|
