<p>The apparatus has a freezing compartment (45) having freezing evaporator (40) and a cooling compartment (55) having cooling evaporator (50). The freezing and cooling evaporators are arranged in series with refrigerant circuit (1). A shut-off element is arranged to keep difference in pressure between low and high pressure sides of compressor (10). A control unit is provided to switch compressor and to open shut-off element with short duty cycle. The duty cycle of compressor is set so that liquid refrigerant is not passed from freezing evaporator to cooling evaporator. An independent claim is included for method for operating refrigerating and/or freezing apparatus.</p> |
