<p>An elevator lighting system using LEDs as a light source and capable of reducing shadows formed by a joint frame is provided. The lighting system has an LED board 4 on which a plurality of LEDs 3 are disposed, a box frame 5 set on a ceiling of an elevator car and provided with the LED board 4, a translucent or light-transmissive shielding plate 6 divided into a plurality of portions and mounted to an opening portion of the box frame 5, and a joint frame 7 fitted between the divided portions of the shielding plates 6.
