PURPOSE: A self piercing rivet is provided to prevent a connection object from rotating and to improve bond strength of the connection object. CONSTITUTION: A self piercing rivet integrally connects an upper member(1) and a lower member(2). The self piercing rivet comprises a head unit(10) and a shank unit(50). The shank unit is integrally connected to the head unit and comprises two or more slits. The slits are formed at a free end of the shank unit. The slits are connected to inner space of the shank unit. The slit is shorter than total length of the shank unit. The slits are arranged at regular intervals along a circular arc direction around the inner center of the shank unit.
