The joinery (1) has a fixed door frame (2) extending in a plane (P). An upper beam (2a) and a lower beam (2b) are connected by an upright (2c). A sliding door leaf (3) is retracted in an open position in a casing (4) that is emerged through a side opening. A movable member (12) is operated between a closed position in which the movable member closes the side opening of the casing and a retracted position in which the casing releases the side opening to allow the sliding door leaf to slide in the casing.
