<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali storage battery which has high rate discharge characteristics and greatly improved charge/discharge cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: An alkali storage battery of the present invention includes a cadmium anode which is formed by coating an electrode substrate having conductivity with an active paste consisting mainly of cadmium oxide as a main active material, cadmium as a spare charge active material, and paste. The active materials have an admixture of a cadmium-indium alloy and an indium compound added thereto. It is preferable that the indium-cadmium alloy and the indium compound be admixed at indium-cadmium alloy to indium compound ratios of 25:75 to 75:25 in terms of indium percentage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
