METHOD FOR PRODUCING FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL FROM LIGNOCELLULOSE-CONTAINING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing the functional material compositions such as lignin or cellulose from lignocellulose-containing materials in such a state as to be easy to use for various applications.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the functional material includes an acid decomposition step of acid-decomposing the lignocellulose-containing material in a solvent by adding an acid, and a filtration step. The acid decomposition step is carried out using a sulfonic acid-based one as the above acid in the solvent containing at least one selected from the group consisting of aromatic glycol ether, 3-methoxybutanol and 4-methoxybutanol. The addition amount of the acid is 0.1-5 mmol based on 10 g of the lignocellulose-containing material in an absolute dry condition.
