<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running control apparatus and a vehicle that can perform collision avoidance of an object while considering the influence at the progress destination of the vehicle and giving sense of safety to a driver. <P>SOLUTION: A virtual bumper area 71 in the course direction of a vehicle 1 is widely set. As a result, the collision with an object 80 that locates at a progress destination of the vehicle 1 can surely be avoided. Meanwhile, in a direction different from a running direction of the vehicle 1, a collision avoidance operation with the object that exists in a location not related with the running direction of vehicle 1 can be controlled, since the virtual bumper area 71 is set relatively narrow compared with the running direction of the vehicle 1. Therefore, the collision of the object 80 can be avoided while considering the influence at the progress destination of the vehicle and giving sense of safety to a driver. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
