The method involves introducing a heat-conducting and electrically insulating filler between stator winding (7) and stator housing (9). The thermally conductive filler and stator winding are impregnated by an impregnation unit after insertion of the thermally conductive filler. A sealing element is arranged in a cylindrical recess portion of the stator housing. An insulative coating is directly applied inside surface of the stator housing. An independent claim is included for electrical machine.
