<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for providing utilities and carbon dioxide. <P>SOLUTION: A system for producing at least one of solid or liquid carbon dioxide includes a combustor 100 configured to produce an exhaust gas containing carbon dioxide, a compressor 104 configured to compress the exhaust gas and heat exchangers 102, 112 configured to cool the exhaust gas. An expansion chamber 108 is configured to allow the compressed exhaust gas to expand and form the solid or liquid carbon dioxide and to separate the solid or liquid carbon dioxide from a substantially CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>depleted gas.
