Provided is a polyester film that can be favorably used in applications such that superior transparency and sliding characteristics are called for, for example as a transparent electrode film member for a touch panel or the like or a member for a molding film or the like. The polyester film results from causing at least one surface of an unstretched polyester film to carry non-heat-resistant particles, and then stretching in at least one direction, and stretching is performed in at least one direction after blowing the non-heat-resistant particles against at least one surface of the unstretched polyester film to cause the carrying, or causing the carrying of the particles by means of applying a coating liquid containing the non-heat-resistant particles.
