<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foam molding capable of suppressing strength reduction at a part which tends to suffer from strength deficit, or capable of achieving partial increase in strength, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a foam molding includes: a filling step of filling foamed particles in a cavity C; a compressing step of partially compressing the foamed particles in a forming die 10 by moving a movable mold 11d in a compression direction; and a molding step of molding the foam molding in a predetermined shape by heating the foam particles in the forming die 10. In the filling process, the foamed particles are filled in such state that the void width of the cavity C corresponding to a compressed part is expended to be more than the prescribed width so that the number of the foamed particles per unit volume existing in a compressed part in the foam molding to be produced is more than the number of the foamed particles per unit volume existing in a non-compressed part. In the compressing process, the movable mold 11d is moved in the compressing direction until the void width of the cavity corresponding to the compressed part becomes the prescribed width. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
