PURPOSE: A network access authentication method and a device thereof are provided to authenticate a subscriber by exchanging an authentication message between a user terminal and a network access authentication device. CONSTITUTION: A gateway unit(110) receives an access request signal of a first network from a user terminal which is connected to a second network. The gateway unit determines whether the user of the user terminal is the same as the subscriber of the first network. The gateway unit transmits a short message request signal including authentication information to a message transmission unit. The gateway unit authenticates access to the first network of the user terminal based on an access request signal received from the user terminal.
