PURPOSE: An earthquake warning method using an earthquake warming modem and an earthquake warning system is provided to transmit a warning message informing the danger of an earthquake situation through earthquake related data observed at a seismological observatory in real time. CONSTITUTION: A sensor unit(100) senses an earthquake signal through a 3-axis acceleration sensor and measures an acceleration value from the sensed signal. An earthquake warning modem(200) receives the acceleration value from the sensor unit and compares a critical acceleration value and the received acceleration value. If the received acceleration value exceeds the critical acceleration value as a comparing result, the earthquake warning modem transmits a warning message to a base station(300).
