摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanofiber with little effect due to a residual catalyst, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon nanofiber includes (encloses) metal cobalt wrapped in a fiber. The method for producing the carbon nanofiber comprises a step of, for example, using a mixed powder of Co oxide and Mg oxide as a catalyst and carrying out a gas phase reaction of a raw material gas containing carbon oxide. Here, a mixed powder of CoO and MgO is used as the catalyst to produce the carbon nanofiber wherein the metal cobalt is included in the fiber, provided that the mixed powder of CoO and MgO is obtained by hydrogen reduction of a mixed powder of Co<SB POS="POST">3</SB>O<SB POS="POST">4</SB>and MgO using a reducing gas having hydrogen concentration whereby metal cobalt is not produced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
