<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner that can improve flame holding performance. <P>SOLUTION: The burner 1 includes: a first combustion nozzle 13 for spraying liquid fuel in a range of a first spraying angle θ1 with the lower side in a vertical direction as a center; a plurality of air nozzles 16 arranged so as to encircle the first combustion nozzle 13 and injecting air downwardly; and a combustion cylinder 17 arranged outward of the plurality of air nozzles 16 and extending downward relative to the plurality of air nozzles 16.
