<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of determining an abnormal conveyance state of a recording medium by accurately detecting an end position of the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The recording device includes: a carriage 101 with a recording head mounted thereon and scanned in a main scanning direction; a first optical sensor 26 provided on the carriage and disposed within a region of a recording element in a sub-scanning direction; a reflection-type second optical sensor 27 disposed on the downstream side of the region of the recording element in the sub-scanning direction; a platen 107 having a reflectance lower than the reflectance of a recording medium with image formed thereon and provided in a region corresponding to the first optical sensor; a reflecting member 70 having a reflectance higher than the reflectance of the unrecorded recording medium and disposed in a predetermined range at least outside the recording medium along the main scanning direction within a region corresponding to the second optical sensor; and a determination unit which determines an abnormal conveyance state of the recording medium, on the basis of at least one detection signal of the first optical sensor and the second optical sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
