The present invention relates to sensor devices, in particular to those which are adapted to be attached to cables. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for fabricating such a sensor device. The sensor device (100) for being attached to a cable to be monitored comprises at least one sensor element (104), and a housing (102) which at least partly encases said at least one sensor element (104) and which is configured to encompass the cable during a measurement process, wherein said housing (102) is fabricated as a single part from a resilient electrically insulating material and is elastically deformable to be mounted at said cable.
