PURPOSE: A non-aqueous secondary battery is provided to improve charging amount of a positive electrode active material in a positive electrode mixture layer and to have excellent charging and discharging cycle performance and storage performance. CONSTITUTION: A non-aqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode(1), a negative electrode(2), and a non-aqueous electrolyte with a positive electrode mixture layer. The positive electrode uses two or more lithium-containing transition metal oxides with different particle diameter with each other, as active material. A lithium-containing transition metal oxide, which has minimum average particle diameter, is a compound indicated in chemical formula 1: Li_x M^1_y M^2_z M^3_y O_2. The density of the positive electrode mixture layer has a density of 3.5 g/cm^3 or more and the non-aqueous electrolyte contains a compound with two or more nitrile groups. |
