A stackable chair comprises a frame formed by bending two metal rods to form two components 201, 202 each providing a back support 203, a rear leg 205, a bottom rail 207, a front leg 211 and an upper side rail 213. The two components are joined together by a forward thin bracing rail, 221 and by a rear rail (222) which is swailed to follow the swail of a seat 225. Stiffening members 215, 216 are welded to the rear legs and one stiffening member 215 is provided with two openings 230, 231 which receive a cylindrical stud (232) and a necked stud (233) on the other member 216 of an adjacent chair in a row of chairs. Two forward glides 217, 218 and two rear glides 219, 220 are mounted on the bottom rails 207, 208 and the two forward glides 217, 218 provide a pin and slot snap connection between adjacent chairs. Rows of chairs are stackable upon one another.</p> |
