The securing device 60 comprises a pair of securing members 61, 62 which are adapted to co-operate with mating joining members 64, 65 that provide a clamping load between the first and second securing and joining members. The securing members are located, and are preferably permanently fixed by welding, gluing or press fitting, within receiving means in a support member 63 and are spaced apart to prevent the securing members from transposing relative to the support member. The securing and joining members can be nuts and bolts or vice versa. The securing member may be press fit into the receiving means such that the securing means is prevented from rotating relative to the support member. Also claimed are a coupling system 110 and method wherein a perforated strap or band 111 in a tensioning system is attached to either a band or coupling element with similar apertures by using the securing device.
